Tuesday June 1st

Our parting gift from Auckland was yet another cloudy rainy day. Here’s a list of next 31 sleepless hours, where migraines and screaming children were our constant companions.

Waiting for flight in Auckland International airport

Flight to Samoa – screaming children, Sarah has migraine

Layover in Samoa – hot and humid, sweat clinging to clothes, had to wait 3 hours in hot open-air portion of airport with no a/c until just before flight

Flight from Samoa – Sarah still has migraine, drained from going from winter in Auckland to summer feeling weather in Samoa, miserably tired, screaming children, no sleep

Layover in L.A. – more tired than we’ve been in a long time, had to stand in line at customs for an hour and a half to two hours, no a/c, was able to eat lunch and cinnabon, which was a plus.

Flight to Denver – still no sleep, flight attendants were way into safety protocols almost to the point of rudeness, usually enjoy flying Frontier but not this time, finally arrived in Denver and Trudy picked us up for the drive home.

Finally home – arrived home at 2 AM and still couldn’t sleep until 6 AM, so tired but finally home!! We were told coming home would be much worse jet lag, and it definitely was! We had no problem adjusting once we got there, but it has been terrible since coming back.

Two days later, Friday, we are now on our way to Oklahoma to see my family and Sarah is in her friend Laura’s wedding on the 12th! We are still really tired, but really excited!

We wanted to thank each of you who have kept up with us on our blog! We truly loved our trip and loved being able to share it with you, and hope you have enjoyed reading about it! We will probably continue blogging some, but less continuously…if you would have considered us at all consistent with our NZ writings.

Prayer for the Week

Gracious Father, we pray for the whole body of believers, Your Church, and right now we pray especially for our local church family. Fill it
with all truth, in all truth with all peace. Where it is corrupt,
purify it; where it is in error, direct it; where in any thing it is
amiss, reform it. Where it is right, strengthen it; where it is in
want, provide for it; where it is divided, reunite it; for the sake
of Jesus Christ Your Son and our Savior. Amen.

Prayer from Last Week

Almighty and most merciful God, we remember before you
all poor and neglected persons whom it would be easy for us
to forget: the homeless and the destitute, the old and the sick,
and all who have none to care for them. Help us to heal those
who are broken in body or spirit, and to turn their sorrow
into joy. Grant this, Father, for the love of your Son, who for
our sake became poor, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
